HiTHIUM, one of the top commercial energy storage companies, is pleased to have helped Zhejiang Petrochemical & Chemical Co., Ltd. successfully commission the energy storage station. China's first and the world's second "offshore type" green petrochemical facility, it is located on Yushan Island in Zhoushan and is part of a 40 million tons per year refining and chemical integration project. In designing the 10 MW/20 MWh energy storage system for Zhejiang Petrochemical, our focus was on ensuring operational efficiency and energy optimization. The system combines air-cooled energy storage modules, string-type PCS container systems, and boosting units to deliver precise peak shaving and backup power capabilities. By integrating these technologies, we ensure the facility can respond to fluctuations in energy demand, reduce peak electricity costs, and maximize overall power efficiency. Since the project went live, it has implemented a two-cycle-per-day strategy, achieving daily charges of 35,208 kWh and discharges of 32,352 kWh, delivering an estimated daily economic benefit of around 24,000 RMB. This practical application demonstrates how commercial energy storage companies can provide tangible financial and operational advantages to industrial clients.
